I am so excited to share with you the newest edition to my site! Every week I will be posting on what God has been showing me through my own Scripture reading or through church services that week in hopes of encouraging you in your daily walk with the Lord. Cause ya know we all need some encouragement from time to time! (Can I get an amen sister?) I have been praying over the direction of this for some time and it is beginning to fall into place. It’s so exciting when God gives you a vision and then you see the pieces being put into place as that vision begins to unfold.
So if I can get a drumroll please, this newest part of my site will be called….
Gardening God’s Way
I will not only be posting on here, but I’m also on Periscope!
@BrigettHolmes
Each week I will be scoping on Gardening God’s Way hoping to encourage you to nourish the soil of your soul through Scripture. Right now I’m planning on doing this Wednesday afternoons, and hope to add Sunday also!
Now that I’ve introduced this section, here’s the very first Gardening God’s Way!
Are you warring with friends, family, or co-workers? We all have our times when tensions and struggles arise, but all of these battles stem from within. Today our pastor made a great point. He said, “When we have war inwardly, we will wage war outwardly.” If you are a child of God, you have the Spirit of the Living God in you warring against that old flesh nature. You know that nature that keeps whispering in your ear all those things you’ve done wrong and still struggle with.
Well that is all good to know, but the main concern is what’s the remedy or is there one? YES THERE IS! Such great news. The remedy is to die to our old ways by filling our lives with God and letting Him be everything for us.
We must find our value and purpose in Him!
Genesis 15:1 reads “After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.'”
Did you get that? What was Abram’s reward? Yes God did promise Abram many things, but his reward was God Himself. The Great I Am. Think about it-Abram did get Isaac and many descendants, but he never saw those descendants or them possess the promised land. God was his reward and He is our reward, but is He enough? He is more than enough, but are we letting Him be enough?
Too many times, we I try to find fulfillment in so many things other than Christ. And they all leave me feeling empty and longing for more. What do you need today? What are you longing for? Hope? Encouragement? Joy? Love? Acceptance? A Future? Peace? Let Him be the Great I Am for you today.
I hope that encourages you today and you are blessed as you Garden God’s Way!
