Have you ever been plodding along, trusting God and planning out your life (at least the next few weeks or months) and then WHAMO! Out of nowhere a total curve ball hits you. I’m talking you weren’t even in the ballpark much less playing ball. But you got hit! And so out the door go all your plans. Now all your days are focused on surviving without losing your mind. (And maybe getting enough laundry done that you have clean clothes-at least clean underwear.) Yeah, I’m talking that kind of curve ball. Well that’s about what our life has been like the past three months.
But the thing about those curve balls is that many times they initiate the best times in your life. They end a chapter of your life, but they always open up a new chapter. And as a believer, we know those curve balls are guided by the hand of God. No matter how hard they hurt. (Cause sometimes we need some hitting upside the head, and sometimes we just need a change-in life, in priorities, in focus.)
Those curve balls also make us trust in God and force our faith to grow-which we all need.
I want to share our curve ball journey with you because sooner or later, at some time in life everyone has one of those moments seasons. Some are more stressful and chaotic than others, but we all get them. And while ours is as unique to us as yours is to you, in some ways, ours will be the same path of so many others. And one thing that is a common ground is that God has His hands all over each one of our situations. From the little things, like keeping our dinosaur of an air conditioning running with no major repairs needed, to the major things, like carrying us through the sudden death of a loved one and providing His peace and grace in the process.
So I hope you won’t mind me starting a series about “that time we trusted God when…”. I’m hoping that it will glorify Him as we share what He’s been doing in our life. But I also hope it encourage you in your walk. But don’t worry, I’ll still be posting tons of healthy recipes, herbal tips, and natural remedies. I’ve actually got a list already of some soon to be posts. (Like the yummy, gooey gluten free brownies I made last week!)
Oh, and by the way, we are still in the middle of our wild ride and don’t know what the destination is other than God’s will and “promised land” for us. So come along with us as we follow God. See where He takes us and see what He’s already done in our life.
