Well, we have finished week one of our January cleanse and healthy eating and I feel great! We did really good-well up until Saturday that is. We took a totally spontaneous trip on Saturday (you can see pics on Instagram) and had to eat out twice-YIKES! So we didn’t totally stick to our diets, but we didn’t completely fall off the wagon either. We did eat bread for our second meal out, but we didn’t have any (other) processed sugars so I considered that a win. It’s nearly impossible to eat out and eat healthy-which brings me to another goal for this month. I am determined to eat out less. My goal is only once a week, and as long as we don’t have any other spur of the moment trips, I think we can do it!
So overall I’d say last week we did good at sticking to our goals. We didn’t even have any horrible cravings that I could control (I’m still waiting for that to happen 🙂 ). Although my goals is to gain health, not lose weight, I would like to lose a few pounds and get leaner. I really am not as concerned about the numbers as I am about what it looks like. What do I mean? Well you can be skinny and not healthy and you can have higher numbers on the scale and be muscular and healthy. So I don’t focus so much on the scale as I do the mirror, and lately I’ve seen some extra water weight that needed to go. You know that feeling, when you suck your tummy in and it won’t really go in. Yep, that’s it.
I decided that for the record, I would weigh myself to see if as I noticed a difference in the mirror, I also noticed a difference in the scale. And I have! My tummy has been much flatter this week and I’ve lost 3 pounds. I’m pretty sure most of that is water weight, but either way, I’m feeling great and my pants are fittin better! I’m also pretty sure that won’t continue each week because I don’t have that much to lose, but it will be interesting to see the end result.
Cleansing is a great way to feel better, gain health and lose weight. Even if we don’t have excess water, most of us have a colon lined with putrefying and toxic bacteria and waste. Did you know that when John Wayne died his colon weighed over 20 lbs because of this! YUCK! The sad thing is, we all are in that same boat. That’s why we are starting with cleansing our colon-it’s got to work regular and well, otherwise our bodies won’t be able to eliminate the waste and toxins cleansed from other systems.
